GRAND RAPIDS — A woman was taken to a hospital with minor injuries early today after she drove her car into a Northwest Side restaurant.

Police arrived to find the woman, whose car was halfway into the the Burger King, 1209 Leonard St. NW, in the lobby.

The restaurant manager told police the woman tried to enter the restaurant lobby after closing time.

Sgt. Matt Janiskee said the manager informed the woman she would have to use the drive-through window to place an order.

The woman then reportedly walked up to the drive-through window, which is open 24 hours, only to be told she needed to be in a vehicle to use the drive-through properly.

“Shortly after that, she decided to drive through the lobby instead of driving up to the drive-through window,” Janiskee said.

Police were investigating the incident, which happened shortly before 3:30 a.m.
