Pez Sues Museum for Life-Sized Pez Dispenser

Pez candy company sues museum

The Pez candy company is suing a museum for unauthorized creation of a giant Pez candy dispenser recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records, according to published reports.

Pez Candy, Inc. says the Burlingame Museum of Pez Memorabilia in Burlingame, Calif. is not licensed to “create, distribute, advertise, market, promote or sell Pez products,” according to the San Mateo Times newspaper. The company is suing to have the working, 7-foot, 10-inch dispenser destroyed, according to published reports, as well as unspecified damages.

The candy company also wants museum owners to get rid of toy truck Pez dispensers that have campaign slogans added to them such as “McCain for Pezident 2008.”
